Principal's Message

Dear Families of Cedar Valley,

Happy New Year and Welcome Back! We have come back with a Snow Leopard ‘Roar”. The community is refreshed, and ready to learn, and boy does it show! We have had many celebrations within the community to start the year off right:

  • New and improved recess and lunch expectations were taught and the whole student body has been successful at showing safe, responsible, kind and respectful behaviors in our community spaces.
  • Our family is growing! We have welcomed many new students and their families across all grade levels. I hope you meet a new family, and friend, at the community dinner on Thursday, January 17th.
  • After School Programs are off and running. If you’re interested in after school art, drama, science, or STEM, Cedar Valley is the place to be.
  • After school programs are running from now until June, so please come by the office if you need more information about sign-ups.
  • To help transport students home from their after school programs, CVE has added an After-School Activity Bus beginning on Tuesday, January 22nd. The bus will leave at 4pm each Tuesday-Thursday. Your child needs to be signed up for this bus in order to take advantage of this service. Please contact the main office for assistance.

With only a few weeks of learning in January this seems like a short month. Please remember, on Monday, January 21st, there is no school in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. On Friday, January 25th we have an early-release half-day dismissal at 11:40am. Then on Monday, January 28th, there is no school for students, During those times, staff will be on in the building to work on collaboration and professional development around the best ways to help each of our students be successful in their individual learning and growth. Like I said, there are many celebrations that are happening within the Snow Leopard family that are "paw"sitively inspiring.

Please be sure to look around our website, there is a lot of information there. Also, feel free to call or email me to discuss any questions you might have about your learners’ progress or the community.
Thank you for such a great start to 2019, I have a feeling this will be the best year yet!

With love and sincerity,
